You thrive in environments where you can design APIs, develop microservices, orchestrate background tasks, and integrate systems using technologies such as FastAPI, Celery, Docker, and Kubernetes.

You care about writing clean, maintainable code and building solutions that perform reliably in cloud environments. You take ownership of your work, operate autonomously, and communicate proactively. You ask the right questions early, document your solutions, and remain committed to delivering high-quality results on time.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies

  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs with FastAPI.
  • Solid experience with SQLAlchemy and relational databases.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing queries.
  • Hands-on experience with Celery for asynchronous task processing, scheduling, and background job orchestration.
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices and integrating third-party APIs.
  • Understanding of ETL architectures and data workflow orchestration.
  • Experience deploying and running services in Kubernetes environments, with working knowledge of Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure as the primary cloud platform.
  • Experience with cloud authentication, authorization, and integrating applications with cloud services and external providers.
  • Understanding of application reliability, error handling, troubleshooting, and maintainable software design.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take ownership of deliverables, and follow established processes and documentation standards.
  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a US-based team.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain reliable backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
  • Build and maintain microservices that support enterprise applications, integrations, and data and analytics operations.
  • Implement database access and persistence layers using SQLAlchemy and relational databases.
  • Develop and manage asynchronous tasks, scheduled jobs, and background processing workflows using Celery.
  • Support ETL processes and data workflow orchestration to enable reliable data processing and integration.
  • Integrate applications with third-party APIs and Azure services, implementing appropriate authentication and access controls.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and deploy and operate services in Kubernetes environments.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, improve service reliability, and optimize application performance.
  • Contribute to dashboards and supporting services for enterprise data and analytics operations as needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation of APIs, integrations, technical decisions, and development processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to clarify requirements, identify potential risks, and deliver maintainable solutions.
  • Communicate progress, blockers, and risks proactively, proposing solutions and ensuring commitments are met.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and FastAPI for backend development.
  • Practical experience with SQLAlchemy, relational databases, and SQL.
  • Experience with Celery and asynchronous task orchestration.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Azure cloud services, authentication, and third-party integrations.
  • Understanding of ETL workflows, microservices, and API design.
  • Strong ownership, autonomy, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and collaborate with a US-based team.
