Job description

About Us

At Zyte, we eat data for breakfast and you can eat your breakfast anywhere and work for Zyte. Founded in 2010, we are a globally distributed team of over 250+ Zytans working from over 28 countries who are on a mission to enable our customers to extract the data they need to continue to innovate and grow their businesses. We believe that all businesses deserve a smooth pathway to data

For more than a decade, Zyte has led the way in building powerful, easy-to-use tools to collect, format, and deliver web data, quickly, dependably, and at scale. And today, the data we extract helps thousands of organizations make smarter business decisions, secure competitive advantage, and drive sustainable growth. Today, over 3,000 companies and 1 million developers rely on our tools and services to get the data they need from the web.

Zyte is a web data extraction company, and our community of Python, data engineering and web scraping specialists is core to how we grow. We host Extract Summit twice a year, in US and Europe, and our Sales and Developer Advocate teams show up at conferences like PyCon, EuroPython and PyData. We’re hiring an Events Manager to help decide where Zyte shows up, then make those events work. You’ll fill the rooms at Extract Summit, build the case for which external events we sponsor, attend or skip, and keep logistics running so our people arrive prepared. After each event, you’ll show us what it returned in pipeline and recommend what to repeat and what to cut. If you’ve run developer or data events and enjoy working closely with Sales and DevRel, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  1. Event strategy and calendar

    • Research where our developer and enterprise buyers spend time, and where competitors show up
    • Recommend which events to sponsor, attend or skip, with a go/no-go case for the CMO and CRO
    • Track deadlines, sponsorship tiers and early-bird windows
  2. Speaking and CFPs

    • Find speaking opportunities for our people
    • Coordinate submissions with DevRel, Product, SLT and Engineering, and track outcomes
  3. Flagships: Extract Summit US and EMEA

    • Run both end to end: venue, run-of-show, speaker logistics (with DevRel), on-site execution
    • Drive registrations with Revenue Marketing, Content and DevRel, and track against plan
  4. External event logistics

    • Coordinate who attends which event, brief them, and name an on-site lead for each
    • Manage booth, shipping and materials, with a vendor list that carries over from event to event
  5. Budget and vendors

    • Build and track the events budget within what leadership approves, and flag overruns early
    • Negotiate vendor and sponsorship terms
  6. Lead handoff and reporting

    • Own lead capture and handoff to Sales within an agreed timeframe
    • Report on leads, cost per opportunity, and pipeline sourced and influenced, using HubSpot and Salesforce
    • Share calendar and spend with Marketing and Sales leadership regularly
  • Run events for developer, data or tech audiences, in both the US and Europe
  • Recommended or chosen which events to attend or sponsor using data, and cut ones that underperformed
  • Driven registrations for an event, with numbers you can share
  • Negotiated vendor or sponsorship contracts yourself
  • Reported event results against pipeline in a CRM
  • Worked well with Sales and technical teams who staff events
  • Travel for the flagships and a few external events a year when needed

Nice to have

  • Web scraping, data extraction or API-first company experience
  • Relationships with organizers in the Python and data communities
  • CFP and speaker program experience

As a new Zytan, you will:

  • Become part of a self-motivated, progressive, multi-cultural team.
  • Have the freedom and flexibility to work from where you do your best work.
  • Attend conferences and meet with team members from across the globe.
  • Work with cutting-edge open source technologies and tools.
  • 35 days paid holidays
