Job description
Schedule: 4-day week, 32 hours a week
About the company
Technology has revolutionised the world we live in, yet somehow the rail industry has stayed much the same as it was 30 years ago. Seatfrog is here to change that.
We're on a mission to build a better future for billions of passengers and the rail companies that carry them. We've already reinvented how upgrading your seat is done - now affordable and lightning fast to over 870 destinations - and enabled customers to effortlessly swap between train journeys. But we're not stopping there! We're on our way to becoming the ultimate travel companion and the only app you'll ever need when travelling by rail in the UK and beyond.
We’re building a stellar team to achieve our audacious goals. We strive to create an environment where you can do your best work. Join us, and you’ll be challenged and supported in equal measure. Ours is a culture with spirit and substance and our people are empowered to make the bold decisions others wouldn’t and haven't.
Mission
For nine years, Seatfrog has been learning what passengers value most: more room, more time, more certainty. Every booking feeds back into our models, which set prices, decide what to put on sale and get a little smarter each time.
Seatfrog Intelligence is how we share that knowledge with rail operators. Their commercial teams use it to see what’s happening on their network, understand what to do next and act on it - spotting where demand is building, which seats are priced too low and where capacity is going unused.
We piloted Intelligence in 2026 and partners are already asking for more. Now we’re rolling it out more widely, and we’re looking for a Lead Product Manager to own it: the strategy, the roadmap and the experience of the people who rely on it every day.
It’s a rare chance to take a product that already works and shape what it becomes. You’ll work with our VP Product on strategy, with our ML and revenue teams who run the pricing models, and directly with operators’ commercial teams. Our partnership model is simple: we do well when our partners earn more and carry more passengers - so the work you do makes a real difference to how people travel.
What you'll do
- Shape the strategy and roadmap. Work with the VP Product to decide which partner problems we solve, in what order, and what evidence each one needs. Share that plan with leadership and the Board, and bring them with you.
- Get to know your users. Spend time with revenue managers and commercial teams and understand their world. Run a regular insight programme that uncovers their biggest challenges and turns them into what we build next.
- Turn insight into action. Help Intelligence grow from showing what happened to recommending what to do - with people staying firmly in control of the decisions that matter.
- Shape how the pricing engine is used. Partner with the ML and revenue teams to decide what the system optimises for, where it needs human judgement and how we show each change has made a difference.
- Build trust and adoption. Make Intelligence something partners genuinely rely on and recommend to others. Work with Customer Success so partners can see the value it brings.
- Prototype with AI. AI tools and agents are part of how we all work. You’ll use them to explore ideas and test them quickly, then work with engineering to turn the best ones into product.
- Bring teams together. Work across ML, data, engineering, revenue and Customer Success, make trade-offs clear and help everyone reach good decisions together.
As the product grows, you’ll also help shape how Intelligence is packaged and taken to new kinds of partners. We don’t expect all of this from day one - there’s room to grow into it.
What we're looking for
You don’t need rail experience - we’ll help you get to know the industry. What we’d love to see:
- A product you’ve shipped that helps people make better decisions - for example in pricing, demand, supply, operations or planning - and a story about the difference it made
- Experience building trust with enterprise customers, including helping them feel confident acting on automated recommendations
- Experimentation experience - you’ve run an ongoing testing programme, not just one-off tests
- Commercial understanding - you’ve owned a commercial outcome and shared your work with senior leaders
- Technical curiosity and fluency - you enjoy talking models with ML engineers and working out what’s buildable with engineers
- Hands-on use of AI tools in your own work, such as for analysis, prototyping or data work
- Experience in a complex or regulated industry such as transport, energy, logistics, health or finance
Nice to have
- Revenue management experience in rail, airlines, hospitality or mobility
- Experience growing a data or analytics product
- Familiarity with GDPR and data governance in a commercial setting
- Snowflake, dbt or a similar modern data stack
If this sounds like you but you don’t tick every box, please apply anyway - we’d really like to hear from you.
How we work
- Talk to people early. We go to the people closest to a problem rather than waiting for a meeting.
- Prototype quickly and test with users. We’d rather put something real in front of a partner than debate it in a document. We write things down when it helps decisions.
- Let AI handle the repetitive work - data prep, first drafts, reports - so people can focus on judgement.
- Measure impact, not output. A launch isn’t done until we know it worked.
How we'll measure success
- More commercial users at each partner using Intelligence every week
- More decisions taken in the tool
- A lower zero-bid auction rate
- Our first paid Intelligence contract
We don’t measure hours worked, tickets closed or documents written.
The process
- Application - 3 role-related questions to answer at application stage
- 30 min screener - People team. Your story, our story, your capability fit.
- 60 min deep dive - VP Product. A deepdive into your experience and skillset.
- 120 min working session - First half: a take-home task on real Seatfrog data, presented to a panel. Second half: an open session to workshop a roadmap of ideas with the team this role will work with.
- 45 min final - Iain (CEO, co-founder) + Dirk (CTO, co-founder). A closer look at culture, and value alignment
Benefits
- 4-day work week
- Equity
- Enhanced parental leave
- Health insurance
- Workplace nursery scheme
- EV leasing and Cycle to Work
- Remote-first, with monthly team meet-ups around the UK and an office near Liverpool Street
_At Seatfrog, we consider diversity a strength - inclusion fuels our ability to solve problems we never thought we could. Your application will be considered on its merits, without regard to your race, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability status or anything else. If there is anything we need to know to enable you to fully participate in our interview process, please just let us know in your application._
By submitting this application, I agree that my personal data will be collected, processed, and retained by the company solely for the purposes of managing and assessing my candidacy.
